Jeff has thirty years of experience working in the fields of economic development, forecasting, market research and air service development. He specializes in using data and building models to improve decision making.

As an undergraduate fellow, Jeff wrote a thesis on the economic development of Nepal. From there Jeff moved to the Pacific Northwest where he worked in the field of resource management at the Center for the International Trade in Forest Products. He developed econometric models to estimate price elasticities, land use simulation models and Markov random field models for remote sensing applications.

After transitioning to the Colorado ski industry, Jeff worked for Crested Butte Mountain Resort holding positions in internet and data management, pricing, central reservations and air service development. CBMR pioneered revenue guarantee programs to bring commercial service to its local airport (GUC). Jeff managed these programs on behalf of the resort from 2004 to 2016, working with United, American, Delta, Alaska and Virgin America Airlines.

In this role, Jeff served as liaison to local governments, the destination marketing organization and transportation authority. Jeff was a founding board member of the Gunnison Crested Butte Air Alliance, a state enterprise zone project incentivizing private sector investment in air service. Jeff’s board experience includes serving as president of KBUT radio station, treasurer of Crested Butte Nordic, and president of the Gold Basin Road Association.

In 2013, Jeff founded Triple Point Strategic Consulting to provide market research, strategic marketing, air service development, and economic analysis to a variety of clients in the resort and travel industries. Recent clients include Panorama Mountain Resort, British Columbia, the City of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Beaver Mountain, Utah, Folly Beach, South Carolina, the Gunnison Crested Butte Tourism Association, and the Small Business Development Center.

At Western Peak, Jeff conducts transportation and tourism forecasts, air service development-retention analysis, and demographic analysis. He uses advanced economic and statistical techniques to identify strategic intelligence. His expertise improves the validity of project projections.

Jeff earned his M.S. in econometrics and Ph.D. in applied statistics at the University of Washington, Seattle. Jeff has been an avid ski racer and ski mountaineer for his entire life and now spends more time waxing his son’s skis than his own. He lives with his family in Crested Butte, Colorado.
