Overview

Our Western Peak team brings extensive hands-on experience with “on-airport” commercial real estate planning and development, including commuter rail oriented developments sponsored by airports. Western Peak understands the importance and various strategies for creating long-term “non-aeronautical revenues” from commercial real estate development located on airport land.

Western Peak’s principals, team members and strategic partners have participated in working with airports to procure, contract with and direct a variety of project teams charged with managing many aspects of planning and developing airport commercial real estate.

Except for Denver International Airport (DEN) and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), most U.S. airports with land available for commercial development have focused to date primarily on land planning activities. Thus, there continues to be a very limited number of aviation and real estate professionals experienced with the actual hands-on implementation and execution of airport commercial real estate development.

In contrast, Western Peak principals have managed the hands-on development of various airport commercial real estate projects, including overall responsibility for the start-up of the commercial real estate development program on 17,000 acres at DEN, the largest U.S. airport.  Our clients typically include the following entities:

  • Airports and their ownership entities (e.g., authorities, cities and counties),
  • Tenants, Developers and Investors interested in on-airport development opportunities (may also include their real estate brokerage representatives).
